Delmanor is committed to providing the best care for our residents. We believe that every person deserves access to highly trained and enthusiastic professionals. To that end, Delmanor ensures that our Health and Wellness team stays current on all certifications and training.

See just how we do that, and the positive impact it has on seniors, below.

Nurse Managers at Delmanor Earned a 100% Success Rate on their Canadian Nurses Association Geriatric Specialization Exam

Last year, three Health and Wellness Managers – Jane, Aylene, and Jovan – received their CNA (Canadian Nurses Association) Gerontological Certification. This is a nationally recognized credential in geriatric nursing which shows that our nurses are dedicated professionals committed to lifelong learning, resident advocacy, and professional practice.

Jane joined Delmanor Elgin Mills as a memory plus manager in 2023. Since then, she has specialized in providing exceptional care for older adults with dementia.

Aylene has 12 years of experience in the retirement industry and is a dedicated Health and Wellness Manager at Delmanor West Village.

Jovan is a hard-working and dedicated Health and Wellness Manager at Delmanor Prince Edward who is committed to providing the best care to residents every day.

Why is training important?

Training and continuing education for our staff is fundamental to being able to provide the best care for our residents. The more knowledgeable our Health and Wellness team is, the better able they are to implement up-to-date nursing practices, ensuring safe, nurturing, and holistic care.

When our team gains specialized knowledge and skills, they are better equipped to understand and address the unique needs of our residents. With advanced expertise, team members can identify health concerns early and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to resident’s specific needs.

What is ahead for the Delmanor Health and Wellness Team?

Although three is a great start, by the end of 2025, the goal is for all of our Health and Wellness Managers to be certified.

Our nurses and personal support workers will also receive Palliative care training through Pallium Canada. This program will increase the skills and knowledge of our staff in order for them to deliver compassionate and effective palliative care to our residents.
